Salome not opening when using a VPN windows

I created the post to report a bug about salome in windows (vr 9.5.0) if I am using a VPN when i open salome it throws an error and i can not use it. and if i put the vpn with salome already open it close the software.

can you share the error message you get in the Python window ?

I am using a VPN as well and cannot reproduce the reported issue.

This will be very much dependent on the VPN client used as well as the specific configuration.

For "us" at work, SALOME Platfom is also unusable with a VPN and it took a little while to figure this out - basically figuring out why a colleague had a problem (because he was connected to the VPN).

What happens in "our" case is, that the internal DNS resolver for SALOME Platform is not found at launch because queries get sent to the companies DNS with priority, which then means that it doesn't find itself...

localhost and 127.0.0.1 continue to work though -> I know because I use those with a VM to access it locally.

Yes you are right. It was the VPN connection.

I disconnected from the VPN and it works now. Thank you so much.
