Hexablock and hexotic

Posted by lovedaypeter at September 02. 2015

Hello,

I have a very simple question: is hexablock a different module to hexotic? and therefore, is it an opensource license for hexablock?

Thanks in advance!

Hi,

Yes, hexablock is different from hexotic.

I don't know however about its licens.

In this JUS 2012 presentation, you have its logic detailed.

Bests,

Pierre

Hello Peter,

HexoticPLUGIN is not a standalone module; it is a meshing plug-in for SALOME Mesh module - it provides an interaction with Distene MeshGems mg-hexa meshing utility (see http://www.meshgems.com/). MeshGems is a commercial software, it requires a license in run-time.

HEXABLOCK is a standalone SALOME module; it can be used to prepare CAD model by splitting it to the hexahedral blocks which can be then easily meshed with i.e. simple i-j-k mesher.

Regards,
Vadim.
