Partitioning?

I am trying to use Salome to generate a mesh around an airfoil (later I want to do a complete wing). I was able to get Salome to work with a tetrahedral mesh, but I want a hexahedral mesh, and that causes problems. From what I understand, I need to partition the volume. Although I have looked at various tutorials, I still don't understand how partitioning should be done. I have a simple airfoil now, but I would like to try more complex airfoils later, and I wonder if these can even be partitioned.
