Posted by negetem at January 20. 2022

Hello,

I want to build a geometric face from a meshed face but i don't know how to do it...

Can someone help me ?

Thanks,

Is it the mesh of a planar face that you have?

No it's a complicated faces like external/internal face of T-pipe model.

But i was thinking of building a compound face from all simple elements face (planar or quadratic according to element order).

You can save the mesh to STL and import it into the Geometry module. This will make a compound out of your triangulation.

I just tested this approach. My quadrangular surface elements are converted to triangle. This does not seem to be a problem with linear elements. I will test with a quadratic mesh if the triangle cutout is still good.
However, I want to build a geometrical group. How to create a geometrical group with the right surfaces corresponding to the mesh group ?

If you can convert your mesh to any other of the formats accepted for import [step, brep, iges, xao] then you won't have the problem of faces being triangulated.
