To install SALOME on Linux, just download and unpack an archive, most appropriate to your platform, for example:

$ tar xfz SALOME-9.6.0-CO7-SRC.tgz

To run SALOME, use salome command:

$ cd SALOME-9.6.0-CO7-SRC
$ salome
